  The Breakthrough Prize celebrates the great discoveries of our times, and the scientists who make them. It honors those at work in the fields that ask the biggest questions, seek the
    deepest explanations and have the most profound impact on humanity. The prize also aims to elevate the standing of science and inspire the next generation with an annual ceremony
                                                                                    broadcast globally.





    We welcome your nominations. If you have previously submitted nominations or letters of support, your continued participation is appreciated. Learn more about the prizes, see past
                                           laureates, register and submit nominations at https://breakthroughprize.org. The deadline is April 1.





                                                                                   Life Sciences Prizes



  * 3 Breakthrough Prizes in Life Sciences ($3 million each) – with 1 of the prizes designated for work contributing to the understanding of neurodegenerative disorders. Nominees should
     have produced transformative results in the last 15 years. New this year: Group nominations will now be accepted for nominators wishing to recommend a shared prize for a single
                                                                                       breakthrough.





                                                                                      Physics Prizes



                                                   * 1 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics ($3 million) – for major achievements.



       * 3 New Horizons in Physics Prizes ($100,000 each) – for early-career researchers (work within the previous 12 years, although exceptions can be made, especially in cases of
                                                                       experimental projects with long lead times).





                                                                                    Mathematics Prizes



                 * 1 Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics ($3 million) – for major achievements (in the last 10 years, though earlier contributions may also be considered).



                     * 3 Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prizes ($50,000 each) – for women mathematicians who have earned PhDs in the previous two years (2021, 2022).



                                * 3 New Horizons in Mathematics Prizes ($100,000 each) – for early-career researchers (work within the previous 10 years).

                             An invitation letter from the three Selection Committee chairs is attached. Please share it with anyone who might be interested.

                                                                             Support for Ukrainian Scientists


    The Breakthrough Prize Foundation has committed more than $6 million to programs supporting Ukrainian scientists, including a U.S. National Academy of Sciences initiative to help
  displaced researchers continue their work; a program launched by an international coordinating group of scientific organizations to support the country’s scientific community; and an
  Australian Academy of Sciences initiative to assist Ukrainian scientists through collaborations and access to Australian infrastructure and facilities. More broadly, the foundation is
              funding the $100 million program Tech for Refugees to bring housing, deliveries and other assistance to refugees, focused especially on those fleeing Ukraine.
