Tema: The interacting binaries W Serpentids and Double Periodic Variables
 
Apstrakt: A summary of observational data of close interacting binaries DPVs and W Serpentis stars is given, searching for a link between both classes of objects. To understand these systems, the concepts of Roche lobe overflow and stream tangential impact turn to be of fundamental importance. Recent spectroscopic and photometric research on some interesting objects is presented.
