Dear colleagues,

You are cordially invited to the SCL seminar of the Center for the Study of Complex Systems, which will be held on Monday, 28 January 2019 at 14:00 in the library reading room “Dr. Dragan Popović" of the Institute of Physics Belgrade. The talk entitled

Mapping between a slow evolution and a parametrically driven Bose gas in the mean-field regime

will be given by Dr. Etienne Wamba (Department of Physics, Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany). Abstract of the talk:

In this talk, we will present two mean-field models of many-body systems with rapid driving. In the first model, the driving is periodic and applied to the interparticle interaction strength of an ultracold Bose gas, while in the second one, the rapid change consists of splitting of the gas. We will map the evolutions of the model systems onto processes with slowly varying parameters. Such a mapping allows us to investigate non-equilibrium many-body dynamics and examine how rapidly driven systems may avoid heating up, at least when mean-field theory is still valid.

Best regards,
Antun Balaž
