National Instruments Seminar at the Institute of Physics Belgrade
11 December, 2009

Dear Madam or Sir,

Please join National Instruments as we present how researchers can use the approach of coupling integrated Graphical Systems Design tools for real-time dynamic simulation, RF communications, math and signal processing with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware for multi-core computing, instrumentation and I/O to accelerate the pace of research and experimentation.

The presentation will include the following elements
:

  • Case studies of LabVIEWand off-the-shelf hardware being used for advanced research applications.
  • Graphical systems design as a high-productivity approach to streamline research theory to proof-of-feasibility.
  • LabVIEW as a graphical system design tool for real-time multi-core processing and I/O in research applications.
  • Leverage of COTS platforms / technologies for high-performance research experimentation and control.
  • Next generation trends in tools and computing for the graphical systems design platform.
  • The PXIand cRIO platforms for windows and real-time / FPGAimplementations.
  • The FlexRIOplatform for advanced FPGA-based processing and I/O.
  • Modular Instrumentation used in research experiments.
National Instruments will present research case-studies that have used LabVIEW, PXI and the CompactRIO real-time FPGA platform to control the European space observatory telescope, control / monitor the collimator of the large hadron collider at CERNand monitor plasma in the Max Planck tokamak. Dimitrij Najdovski will also present a Jožef Stefan Institute case-study and demonstration of accelerating research to the proof-of-feasibility stage for non-invasive RF detection of objects using the National Instruments platform approach.
