POST-DOCTORAL OPENINGS IN COMPLEX NETWORKS AT UNIVERSITY OF BARCELONA, SPAIN
Three post-doctoral research associate positions (1+1 years) are
available at the University of Barcelona (Spain), to work on the field
of complex networks/ network science. Project overviews are provided below.
We are looking for strongly motivated candidates with excellent skills
in theoretical modeling, programming/simulation, data collection and
analysis, and a keen interest in multidisciplinary research. The
candidate should have a PhD in Physics, Applied Mathematics,
Computational Science, or any closely related discipline. Proficiency in
spoken and written English is required. The successful candidate will
undertake the development of analytic and computational tools for the
study of multilayer networks, including time dependence, dynamical
processes, and underlying metric spaces.
If interested, email a detailed CV together with an expression of
interest to
lasagne.ub@gmail.com, indicating "BCN postdoc call" in the
subject. We also ask for one reference letter, directly sent via email
to the above email address by the deadline. Applications received by October
31, 2012 will be considered in a first evaluation, but later
applications are also welcome to fill available positions. Selected
candidates will be appointed for a personal interview and/or test
assignments.

EUROPEAN PROJECT LASAGNE (multi-LAyer SpAtiotemporal Generalized NEtworks)
http://complex.ffn.ub.es/albert/lasagne_ub/LASAGNE_UB/Welcome.html
The successful candidate will join the PhysComp2 node
(
http://complex.ffn.ub.es/physcomp/index.php) of the project
LASAGNE, founded by the European Commission, which aims to develop
theoretical foundations of multilayer spatio-temporal generalized
networks and to validate them on real world applications. The successful
candidate must be able to work independently although she/he is also
expected to work in close collaboration with the LASAGNE-UB team,
Prof. Albert Díaz-Guilera,
Dr. M. Ángeles Serrano, and
Dr. Marián Boguñá.
EUROPEAN PROJECT MULTIPLEX (Foundational Research on MULTIlevel comPLEX
networks and systems)
The successful candidate will join the Barcelona node of the project
MUTIPLEX, founded by the European Commission, which aims to develop
theoretical and computational methods to handle co-evolutionary dynamics
on and of multiplex networks. The successful candidate must be able to
work independently although she/he is also expected to work in close
collaboration with the MULTIPLEX-UB/UPC team,
Prof. Albert Díaz-Guilera,
Dr. M. Ángeles Serrano, and
Dr. Marián Boguñá and
Dr. RomualdoPastor-Satorras.
