Dear colleagues,
You are cordially invited to the BioPhysLab seminar, which will be held on Tuesday, October10th 2023 at 13:00h in the library reading room “Dr. Dragan Popović" of the Institute of Physics Belgrade. The talk entitled
"Development of Hybrid Nanostructures for Bioimaging and Energy Conversion"
will be given by dr. Dušan K. Božanić, Senior Research Associate at Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences, Belgrade, Serbia
The abstract of the talk:
Development of hybrid nanostructures (HNS), materials of characteristic dimensions in nanometer range that are composed of two or more structurally different parts, presents a convenient approach to fabrication of functional nanosystems with desired set of physical, chemical, and transport properties. These nanosystems, in addition to the characteristics inherited from the component materials, can exhibit additional, often unique, properties as a consequence of interaction between the valence states. For this reason, HNS can be used for a variety of different applications including in biomedicine, heterogeneous catalysis, or in energy conversion and storage. Here, an overview of recently developed HNS in our laboratory [1-9] will be presented with particular focus on plasmonic HNS used in fluorescent bioimaging and photoactuation.
