Abstract:

We study a class of holographic thermal field theories with properties
of hight-Tc superconductors, because they suffer a second order phase
transition below some critical temperature Tc. These theories, defined
in any dimension, are dual to charged black hole solutions in AdS
gravity with quadratic Gauss-Bonnet correction, with scalar hair. We
find an exact formula for the free energy of this system and we
analyse its properties, such as the extrema and stability.
