Dear Colleagues,
World Year of Physics 2005 coincide also with the anniversaries
of George Placzek (1905, Brno, Czech Republic - 1955, Zurich,
Switzerland) known mainly in neutron physics and light scattering.
To his memory, we are organising a conference in Brno, September
21 - 24, 2005 which should cover Placzek's history as well as
present impact of his works. The information can be found at

We would be obliged to you if you would spread the information on
the conference in your Physical Society, University, Institute.
