Postovane koleginice i kolege,
Univerziteta, boraviti Prof. Josef Pelzl, Institut für Experimentalphysik,

Abstract: Thermal wave based scanning probe techniques have been used to
control the thermal management of devices and to image material properties
on microscopic scales such as the thermal parameters and local magnetic
characteristics. A novel combined scanning thermal and scanning thermal
expansion microscope has been applied complemented by finite element
simulations to determine the local temperature of hot spots in semiconductor
devices. Thermal and thermo-elastic response of the microwave resonance has
successful been applied for magnetic imaging. Using the scanning thermal
ferromagnetic resonance microscopes it was possible to image the microwave
resonance absorption of a Permalloy stripe and of a Ninano-dot. Monitoring
the thermal response at a multiple frequency of an ac-heated thermal probe
the thermal conductivity on nano-scale can be controlled. A revised
analytical approach of this method has been developed and applied
successfully to nano-structured shape memory alloy devices.
Ovo predavanje je u sklopu 1st International Workshop on Nanosciences 2005.
naslovom
Photothermal Materials Characterisation
J. Pelzl
Solid State Spectroscopy, Institute of Experimental Physics,
Ruhr-University, D-44801 Bochum, Germany
Abstract: Photothermal methods rely on the detection of the heat originating
from non-radiative decay of the electronic and vibrational states. Detection
of the heat diffusion governed signals allows depth profiling of optical,
magnetic and thermal properties which is widely applied in materials
research. Due to the absence of photon noise the prompt heat response is
very suitable for trace detection in gases, liquids and solid matter.
Applications also from other groups in environmental, medical and food
science will be briefly reported.
Pored tih predavanja, Prof. Pelzl ce u cetvrtak, 17. novembra 2005, u
