Poštovane koleginice i kolege,
Obaveštavamo vas da će u ponedeljak, 2. marta, u 11 h u sali "Zvonko
Marić", Luka Ilić održati seminar povodom izbora u zvanje istraživač
saradnik, pod nazivom:
TRANSPORT MODELING AND GROUND BASED REMOTE SENSING OF AEROSOLS
Abstract:
DREAM (Dust RЕgional Atmospheric Model) model is developed as add-on
component of an atmospheric model and is designed to simulate and/or
predict the atmospheric cycle of mineral dust aerosol. The model
contributes to the Sand and Dust Storm Warning Advisory and Assessment
System (SDS-WAS) Program that was established by the World
Meteorological Organization with the aim of improving the present
capabilities for reliable sand and dust storm forecasts. DREAM model is
run on a cluster at IPB and is used in research of specific dust
intrusion episodes and long term dust transport simulations.
Systematic retrievals of dust concentration profiles at continental
scale in the framework of ACTRIS/EARLINET were recently made possible by
use of the Lidar/Radiometer Inversion Code (LIRIC) and the Polarization
Lidar Photometer Networking (POLIPHON) algorithms based on the
synergistic use of lidar and sun photometer data. Data from two recent
measurement campaigns conducted in Europe were used for model
validation.
A coordinated experimental campaign aimed at studying the aerosol
optical, size and mass properties was organized in selected sites in
Greece and Romania, in September 2012. Mass concentrations retrieved by
LIRIC and POLIPHON algorithms and simulated by DREAM model were
compared. Additionally, a continental scale model evaluation methodology
using EARLINET network capabilities as a tool for the validation of dust
transport models is demonstrated for four regional dust transport models
(BSC/DREAM8bV2, BSC/NMMB-DUST, DREAMABOL, DREAM8-NMME-MACC) using dust
observations performed at 10 ACTRIS/EARLINET stations from February 2011
to June 2013.
