MODELLING OF DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF ORTHOTROPIC METALS
Abstract: Anisotropic metals are frequently exposed to the loading with high
strain rates in the range from 10^2 1/s to 10^6 1/s. This is typical for
high velocity impacts (e.g. bird strike, debris impacts, explosively driven
fragmentation); manufacturing processes (e.g. stamping, cold spraying and
explosive forming). These types of loading often involve generation and
propagation of shock waves within the material. The material behaviour
under such a complex loading needs to be accurately modelled, in order to
optimise performance of a specific structure or of a manufacturing process
and achieve appropriate properties of the manufactured component.
The presented research is related to development and validation of a
thermodynamically consistent physically based constitutive model for metals
under high rate loading. The model is capable of modelling damage, failure
and formation and propagation of shock waves in anisotropic metals. The
model has two main parts: the strength part which defines the material
response to shear deformation and an equation of state (EOS) which defines
the material response to isotropic volumetric deformation. The constitutive
model was implemented into the transient nonlinear finite element code and
our in house smoothed particle hydrodynamic code. Limited model validation
was performed by simulating a number of high velocity material
characterisation and validation impact tests.

ASYMPTOTIC METHODS OF NON-LINEAR MECHANICS:
THE RESULTS OF THEORETICAL RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF SERBIAN SCIENTISTS
IN THE PERIOD 1968-2016
On the occasion of a century since the birth of Academician Yuri Alekseevich
Mitropolski
Abstract: In the introductory part of the lecture will be presented
theoretical basis of the asymptotic methods of nonlinear mechanics school
Krylov M.M., Bogolyubov, M.M., Mitropolyskii Yu.A., Samojlenko A. M. (Крилов
М.М., Боголюбов М.М., Митропольський Ю.О., Самойленко А.М). Lecturer is the
aspirant of academician Mitropolyski. Below will be highlighted and the
contribution of academics Mitropolyskii Yu.A. concept of traditional
scientific conferences started under the name ICNO Kiev 1961, present
continued under the name ENOC as one of four major scientific conferences of
the European Society of Mechanics.
In the second part of the lecture will discuss the results of the Serbian
researchers using asymptotic methods of nonlinear mechanics
Krilov-Bogolyubov-Mitropolyski, which are contained in was defended magister
of science and doctoral dissertations in Serbia.
In the third part of the lecture, lecturer will present their own results of
nonlinear differential equations of the first approximation in the
amplitudes and phases using interpretation by work, as well as in various
examples of application. Especially, occurrence of the secular terms will be
discussed and explanation of internal resonances in dynamics of nonlinear
dynamical systems.
