Dear colleagues,

You are cordially invited to the Center for solid state physics and new 
materials seminar, Graphene Lab, which will be held on Friday, December 
14th 2018 at 14:00 in the library reading room “Dr Dragan Popović" of 
the Institute of Physics Belgrade. The talk entitled:

"Synthesis and characterization of magnetic materials at the Quantum 
Materials Group at the JKU Linz"

will be given by Margherita Matzer PhD Student, Quantum Materials Group, 
Johannes Kepler University, Linz .


Abstract:
It exist great expectations for Gallium nitrides in the field of 
technologies based on spin-dependent mechanisms, since it has the 
possibility to get a Curie temperature at room temperature. The Quantum 
Material Group at the JKU Linz is mainly focused at the magnetic 
possibility on GaN based semiconductors, for example (Ga,Mn)N or 
Ga(Fe)N, which are grown by the group by metalorganic vapor phase 
epitaxy. Beside the own grown samples a lot of cooperation exist to 
produce and characterize topological insulators and superconductors. The 
newest field of research of the group is the production and 
understanding of 2D chalcogenides. For this mechanical exfoliation and 
dry transfer is used and a lot of new challenges appear during these 
processes. This talk is the overview of all these different topics and 
their possibility for further applications.
