You are cordially invited to the online seminar of the Group for 
Gravitation, Particles and Fields, which will be held  on Friday, 19 
March 2021 at 11:15 via the BigBlueButton platform (link is given 
below).


The talk entitled

BV/BRST formalism in the language of L_infinity algebras


will be given by Clay Grewcoe (Institute Rudjer Boskovic, Zagreb).

Abstract: The Batalin-Vilkovisky (BV) formalism is unavoidable in the 
study of gauge field theories. Taking into account the connection 
between gauge field theory and L_infinity algebras shown in the previous 
seminars it is natural to wonder how BV formalism fits into this 
picture. In order to show this we must first define L_infinity tensor 
products and use them to relate gauge symmetry to classical field theory 
and consequently to its BV (BRST) extension. The Courant sigma model 
will be used as an example since it is a theory that showcases all the 
properties of the formalism.
