Dear colleagues,
I would like to kindly invite you to the upcoming seminar organized by
the Biomimetics Laboratory within the DIAMICA project. The seminar will
take place on Thursday, April 24th, 2025, at 13:00, in the "dr Dragan
Popović" lecture hall at the Institute of Physics Belgrade.
We are pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Łukasz Komsta (Department of
Medicinal Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Lublin,
Poland), an external collaborator on the project, who will be giving a
talk entitled:
Chromatographic retention from a multivariate point of view
Abstract
Multivariate analysis of the chromatographic retention can provide a
powerful insight for visualizing complex, multidimensional dependences
and uncovering subtle relationships or hidden patterns. While
hierarchical cluster analysis and principal component analysis are the
most commonly appled techniques, many other multivariate techniques have
also been successfully used. The lecture introduces the fundamentals of
multivariate analysis in the best context application in chromatography
and also highlights examples of applications on various retention
datasets, such like retention modeling, lipophilicity assessment,
QSAR/QSRR support, solvent selection, as well as comparative evaluation
of one against other separation techniques. Generally speaking,
integrating multivariate approaches into chromatographic studies can
significantly enhance our data interpretation and discussion.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Best regards,
Darija Jovčić
