Dear friends,

On October 21 (Wednesday) at 12:00 CEST we will have a seminar by
Juan-Diego Urbina, in the theory seminar room (Institute of Physics
Belgrade, 2nd floor). JD will be here for 3 days (Mon-Wed) so if you
want to have a meeting just drop by. Title and abstract follow.

Periodic orbit theory perspective in JT quantum gravity

Juan-Diego Urbina (Univeristy of Regensburg)

I will give a general account of how the old-fashioned quantum chaos
approaches the subject of (short- and late-time) quantum gravitational
signatures of chaos, mainly at the level of the spectrum and the OTOCs.
I will also briefly connect with eigenstate properties, including the
Random Wave Model. I will then address the individual-system versus
ensemble interpretation of quantum gravity from a quantum chaos
perspective. Due to its chaotic classical limit, motion on hyperbolic
manifolds shows all universal signatures of quantum chaos. These
properties imply a possible duality to Jackiw-Teitelboim-type quantum
gravity at the level of a single system instead of an ensemble of
systems like matrix theories and SYK models.
